Nevion’s Virtuoso is a standards-based, virtualization-ready, software-defined media node offers a variety of real-time transport, processing and monitoring functions for live production, remote production, contribution and other professional media applications. With its functionality easily modified in the field through software, Virtuoso enables a faster time-to-production and greater cost-effectiveness.
Media functions provided, include:
• SDI, SMPTE ST 2022-6 and SMPTE ST 2110 processing and adaption
• Support for SD, HD, 3G, 2K (cinema), 4K/UHD (broadcast and cinema), slow-motion and stereoscopic 3D video
• Video up, down and cross conversion
• Video encoding and decoding for JPEG 2000, H.264/AVC, TICO & JPEG XS
• IP audio adaption, embedding/de-embedding, processing and mixing (MADI, SMPTE ST 2110, AES67)
• Extensive input signal monitoring with option for alarm-based input switching
• Advanced transport protection, including FEC, SMPTE ST 2022-7 seamless switching and LDO (launch delay offset)
• Alarm-based intelligent input redundancy switching
• Content protection including BISS1, BISS2 and BISS-CA scrambling
• IP media edge (IPME) functionality, such as Network Address Translation (NAT), bitrate policing, stream duplication, flow linearization / de-jittering, and UDP/IP to RTP/UDP/IP conversion.
Virtuoso is SMPTE ST 2110, NMOS and TR-1001 certified.
