Panasonic’s IT/IP Platform KAIROS is a live video production platform designed for modern IP based workflows. Built on an open, software-defined architecture, KAIROS leverages general-purpose CPUs and GPUs to deliver high-performance video processing while offering flexibility, scalability, and operational efficiency.
KAIROS supports a wide range of IP standards, including SMPTE ST 2110, NDI High Bandwidth, SRT, and, more recently, IPMX. With IPMX adoption beginning to take shape in the market, its support in KAIROS reflects a forward-looking approach to emerging IP-based workflows, particularly for live events and staging environments that value interoperability and flexible connectivity.
GPU-based processing enables unrestricted multi-layer compositing without fixed limits on mix effects (MEs), keys, or formats.
KAIROS also enables the mixed use of video sources with different formats by allowing them to be input directly without conversion. It also performs optimal internal processing automatically based on the configured output resolution, enabling multiple outputs at arbitrary resolutions and frame rates without being restricted to predefined format structures. In addition to IP workflows, KAIROS supports baseband signals such as SDI and HDMI, making it highly suitable for hybrid production environments transitioning toward IP.
